Commenting changes
I had been spending 15 minutes a day just cleaning comment spam from the site. That’s about 10 minutes more per day than I have to give to this hobby, so it was really getting me down. When I first starting getting comment spam, I installed the MT-Blacklist anti-spam plugin. It’s a good tool: it makes despamming much easier, and I’m sure it makes the spamming problem less than it would otherwise be. But when I got 100 spam comments every day for the last three days in a row, I just couldn’t stand it anymore. Fussing with my MT installation usually gives me knots in my stomach, so I held off as long as I could. Today I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to MT 3.1. When this is all sorted out, you’ll have to register with Movable Type before you can comment. You only have to register once, and it enables you to comment on any blog running MT. For now, commenting is off.
