Hello everyone. Life is still very hectic here in Kuching. I’m riding around town in a rented Proton Wira trying to set our household in order. No phone, no internet connection yet, so I’ve had to steal an hour here and there just to check email at cyber cafes ($.50 US/hour!). But I am alive and well. Inshallah I’ll be back to regular posting in two weeks or so…

Have you been to that crab restaurant. Heard it’s a really nice place. They showed it on TV3.
Oh, I just found your website via altmuslim . Was bored one day and searching for Muslim web blogs.
Well done!
I didn’t see that show; no TV yet. But if you tell which restaurant it was, I’ll try it. I’ve been eating out a lot; no pots and pans yet!
Leave your response!

Granfalloon (n) : "A proud and meaningless association of human beings." A word coined by Kurt Vonnegut (1922-2007) in his book Cat's Cradle. I was recalling the concept recently for some reason but couldn't bring the term to mind. There it is: A granfalloon. The idea is illustrated in the book by a woman from Indiana who is just thrilled to meet Hoosiers everywhere she goes, a Hoosier being a name for people from the state of Indiana, but the shared qualities she recognizes in Hoosiers exists only in her own mind. Thanks, Kurt.
